My neighbor decided that since I put a custom ROM on my phone, he wants to put it on his. It was a success. However, he has physically trashed his phone (his kid broke the screen off the body). Does putting a custom ROM on is phone void the damaged phone replacement still available?

Okay, yes, it really is my neighbor. He's an idiot but grills great! LOL!

However, if it was insured, that should still be covered. Just don't mention the voiding thing.

I'll tell him that there is still a glimmer of hope. There is no way of knowing if it powers on as the screen is no longer attached to the phone. I'll tell him just to call but not mention the rooting thing.

    Thanks!!!

They will format the phone when they first get it, I don't know if they will flash the most up to date ROM for the device or not. Its also feasable for them to hook up to a device to format the device prior to work since the screen is broke and notice a custom ROM and then declare it VOID. I don't know how that will work, but I definitely wouldn't say you loaded a custom ROM on the device and let them figure it out.
