Have you tried to put the SD card in the Mac or in a card reader and copy and paste?
It is possible that you need to strip the DRM lock on the itunes songs.

TuneSync and Easy Phone Tunes have free versions but they don't work with copy protected files.

Swyped from my Eris running xtrSense 3.

Salling Media Sync synchronizes playlists, music, and podcasts from iTunes and photos from iPhoto or Aperture onto your mobile phone. It's free to use, but when registered it intelligently updates your phone, which is much faster.

Salling Media Sync does not copy DRM-protected media, as it wouldn't play on your device. Music that has been ripped from CDs in MP3 or M4A format will sync without problems.

I used DoubleTwist to transfer my iTunes library to my hand Droid. Worked a lot better for my on the Droid than it did on the Storm. Got the whole thing done first shot.
