I've been playing with the XOOM for the past day or so. I'm working on my review, but it will take a few more days at least. If you have questions, please ping me in this thread or create a new thread. I'll try and answer your questions as best I can.

Android Central seemed to like it while Engadget wasn't a fan of the OS...

I try not to read reviews before formulating my opinions. I did glance over Engadget's review.

Understandable, I am looking forward to your review.
Are you able to tether your N1 to it, using a rooted tether app, not the official carrier hotspot? (wishful thinking)

I thought I read the other day that the XOOM has a SD Slot (micro/mini whatever) but wasnt usable until some sort of OTA upgrade, but I just read another review and it says there is no expansion slot.

    Which is right?

There is an expansion slot. From what I understand in my briefing, it doesn't work yet.

The app is very odd on the Xoom. Switches from portrait to landscape.

Sent from my Xoom using Everything Android App

Played with one today.....it was pretty damn nice. Def had some weight to it, made seem like solid equipment.

How's the thing do full screen apps meant for phones? I think there was a 'spare parts' solution for the Galaxy Tab that did a much better job vs 2x pixelated view.

Hope the wifi unit is widely available so that the Market gets moving on Honeycomb apps. There's been lots of news about catchup with the App Store but where are we at on the tablet front?

full screen games play nice if they are high quality games. angry birds is great on the xoom for example.

I agree, Angry Birds was impressive. Some apps floated in a phone sized window. That weirded me out a bit. Then again, I didn't look to see if they had any sort of support listed for 3.0. Over time, that will definitely improve.

I'm a bit annoyed with the washed out grey colours. Anyone know if it can be forced to a true black?

you should try the SpareParts method that IP7 meantioned. This SHOULD set it to fit the screen.

SpareParts>check on Compatibility mode> reset device
