I dotn have a Droid, but it should be easy:

Connect your phone to your computer via USB cable.
If its prompts you, put the phone in USB Mode.
A widow should then open up.
Find your SD card and put the music in the appropriate folders.
Safely eject the phone and your ringers should show up when you look for them on your phone

all you have to do is get the songs, whether its on the phone or a pc, and then just use a file manager (ASTRO File Manager from the Market) and move them to the right folders

We seem to have a disconnect over the difference between files and folders. Files live in folders.

I can't think of a way to make a folder wrong. Maybe you put it in the wrong place??

Unless I am reading something wrong, it seems the OP wants to know how to get the actual music on the phone without a pc...If this is the case, we need to go in a different direction.

Is the music or ringtones on your phone in the first place? (From how I am reading it, it seems like you want help getting music on the phone, to be used as notifications or ringtones.)

This is completely different than where to store the music/ringtones. Am I making sense? Let us know exactly what you need, and we'll figure out a way to help you!
