I have a Samsung galaxy note and it obviously has a HDMI output and I have my cable and everything. I recently downloaded the "Sky go" app and was looking forward to hooking up to my tv in my bedroom because I don't have a sky box up there but instead I was disappointed to see that it will not support that.

My question to you is, Is there a way to bypass this?

My phone is currently not rooted.

    Thank you!

Do you get an error message?
Does it work for other apps?

And what OS are you running in the Note?

Uh oh.....I found this on the Sky site so it would appear the HDMI port is intentionally disabled. I thought that might be a problem.....Here is the blurb:
HDMI out - The majority of new Android smartphones include the option to plug your phone into your TV through your HDMI port. We have to disable this feature so that we do not breach our contracts with content providers, and the process for doing this is different for each model.
