Ok so here is the deal. I am a noob rooter with HTC. I have owned one other smartphone in my life, a huawei ascend (M860) Now that was like the easiest thing that I have ever encountered to root. I recently have upgraded to Sprint and got myself an amazing HTC Evo 4g Shift. I love the phone, it is amazingly fast, I really dont need to root it, however I want too lol. You all know what I am talking about. Now I have read forum after forum attempting to figure out how to root the phone. I dont even mind if it is a temp root. I made the mistake of upgrading to andriod 2.3.3 which I thought would not be an issue. With the information that I have found on all the forums that I have read, they all seem to require me to use VISIONary. Now I have followed those directions to a "T." I can not get this to work. When I run the program it seems to think for a bit, then it will do one of two things, It will either stay on the black screen and lock the phone up, and I have to pull the battery to get it working again, or it will go off the black screen and go back to my home screen, and the phone runs really slow like it says and then I put the check mark in the box that says to root upon reboot. When I reboot the phone, it is still not rooted. Im not sure if i am doing something wrong. Is there another option out there for a temp or perm root on this phone that does not require me to use VISIONary?

Please help! I love this phone, yet I want to throw it out the window and get another Ascend, and that is just not right lol.

Ok, so does anyone know how to rollback to 2.2 after the 2.3 update is installed?
