so i got a samsung galaxy s2. i have no cell service on this phone.(i got a cheap flip phone for calling) i just use it for the web browser through my home wifi. ok i use it mostly for watching tv shows and movies and occasional for looking up stuff. the problem i have is the popups its got to the point where this thing called mobogine starts to download its self. i get scam virus stuff that says my phone is infected. my popups are bad. and yes i know its from watching pornography i will once in a while will watch that stuff i admit. i downloaded avl and avl pro to clean my phone and it dint work. it only scans and protects your apps. and i really don't have any apps. i need help to clean my web on my phone to get rid of all that bad stuff. i remember when i first got this phone like 3-4 years ago the web was awsome with like no bad or sever popups. now its just bad popup after popup. any advise beside to stop watching pornography(am a male adult we all do it)

First, it isn't only from porn. I don't watch that, and I get browser pop-ups as well. That mobigenie is the biggest pain in the a$$...

If you are rooted, you can download ad blocking software. If not, you can try different browsers. I prefer Opera or Dolphin.

Another reason you can get the pop-ups is if you have downloaded or tried to download "pay" apps for free.

Some "free" apps also include crap that cause pop-ups. Use the app Add on detector to see what can be causing some of this...

I have seen this posted as a solution in several locations, but I am not certain it will work as I have not run into that app:
    1. Make sure you have uninstalled mobo genie market.
    2. Go to App, and swipe until you see "All" you will see 2 Downloads icon there.
    3. The Downloads with no size is the legit one. Keep it, if you long press and select App info you will see that it's something related to your firmware.
    4. The 2nd Downloads icon is the culprit, with a version of 2.02xx. Long press it, select App info then uninstall.

The other solution would be a bit more drastic and that would be to wipe the phone to return it to factory. Make sure you backup your data before wiping. One has to hope that nefarious app does not hide itself in the data you back up.
