Sept. 12 (Bloomberg) -- Verizon Wireless, the biggest U.S. wireless carrier, will provide service for Motorola Inc.’s second Android-based phone, according to a person familiar with the matter.

Verizon will begin offering the device in the fourth quarter, said the person, who declined to be named because the agreement isn’t public. Like Motorola’s Cliq phone, introduced this week, the new model will run Google Inc.’s Android operating system.

Well, today I heard that 15,000 units were being shipped to Verizon employees for testing. We have to figure now that the official announcement is coming in early October, maybe the release will be before Black Friday.
